On May 3-4, 2011, representatives of AK&P participated in the 4th Astana Economic Forum, focused on "Global Economy and Finance, Business and Investment", "Community and Sustainable Development".
The event was attended by more than 3,500 participants from 75 countries, including Ex-President of Croatia Stjepan Mesić, Ex-President of Bolivia Jorge Quiroga, Nobel prise winners John Nash, Roger Kornberg, Robert Mundell, James Mirrlees, Finn Kydland, Governments’ officials and distinguished experts in economy and international relations.
The Opening ceremony of the event was lead by HE Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Republic Kazakhstan, he recognized the Forum’s practical relevance for the development of Kazakhstan’s economy and the Global Economy as a whole. Perspectives of global currency reforms, food security, the “green economy”, innovative economy and alternative energy were main topics of the Forum agenda.
On May 3, within the framework of the Forum the first session of Eurasian Business Congress was held, more than 30 business unions from Europe and Asia, including Germany, Austria, Romania, Italy, Norway, Belgium, Estonia, Turkey, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and Philippines have attended.
The participants of the session have signed Protocol, according to which Organization for EuroAsian Cooperation Committee (EACC) , created in 2010 in the frameworks of III Astana Economic Forum, has been appointed as Permanent Committee of EACC. The National Commercial Chamber “Union “Atameken” was assigned as EACC Secretariat and the Chairman of presidium MCC “Union “Atameken” Mr. Timur Kulibayev was elected as the Chairman of Permanent Committee.
